My Cancer Journey

(2025-06-26) Hematology consultation after multiple episodes of sickness.

(2025-07-02) PET scan. Results showed widespread active lymph nodes above and below the diaphragm. My spleen measured about 22cm. Bone marrow uptake suggests the marrow is involved too.

(2025-07-10) Bone marrow biopsy

(2025-07-11) Lymph node biopsy

(2025-07-18) The bone marrow biopsy result indicated a very cellular marrow with strong inflammatory / immunoblastic picture.

(2025-07-23) The lymph node biopsy results: an EBV‑driven “Hodgkin‑like” lymphoproliferative disorder - not classic Hodgkin lymphoma, but a florid immune reaction with many Hodgkin‑looking cells that are actually CD20/CD45 positive B‑cells. An ALPS flare-up.

(2025-08-06) Sick. Fatigue. Night sweats.

(2025-08-10) Hospital admission.

(2025-08-13) PICC placement.

(2025-08-20) New diagnosis of an aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, most consistent with a plasmablastic lymphoma, with confluent lymphadenopathy on PET-CT in the abdominal, mediastinal, and iliac regions. Stage IV B. Suspected CNS invasion based on MRI findings (punctiform lesions). Start of R-CODOX-IVAC with Cytarabine and Daratumumab therapy.

(2025-10-17) PET scan results. Significant reduction of the previously described lymphoma localizations above and below the diaphragm. Only mildly FDG-avid residual lesions remain. Deauville score 3. Lymphoma is in remission.

(2025-12-28) PET scan results. Newly developed hypermetabolic focus posterior to the aorta in the retrocrural region: suspicious. Deauville score 5. Lymphoma is refractory.
